These beautiful ceramic cups (85mm w x 72mm h), which we also use at correspondences No.39, are by Hasami Porcelain, based in Nagaski prefecture in the historic Hasami village, where artisans have been making porcelain ware for over 400 years.
The texture and colour of these cups are unlike anything you will use. They are firmer than earthenware but have a natural, ‘lived in’ feel that is gentle and comforting to use - something that comes from the uniqueness of the material (a mixture of porcelain and clay).
Like the architecture of No.39, Hasami Porcelain products are modular and stackable. Cups - and all parts of the range (bowls, trays, etc.) - share the same diameter so they can be stacked freely, stored, transported easily and used in a multifunctional way.
For example, two stacked cups can be used as both cup and lid of a sugar pot. It’s an inspiration from tiered boxes - traditional lacquer ware - used in Japanese cuisine, and we know you’re going to love it as much as we do!
Each piece is individually boxed, making it a beautiful gift.

We use Australia Post’s flat rates for small, medium and large parcels <5kg. https://auspost.com.au/sending/send-within-australia Most of our parcels are classified as small or medium parcels after taking into account packaging. If postage is going to be more, we will let you know. This item falls into the small category. We use Hero’s mailers to send our small and medium parcels as they can be re-used and then popped in the compost. They cost approx. $1.4-1.84 each. Alternatively, you’re more than welcome to nominate ‘Click & Collect’ to save your pennies and swing by during business hours to see us.
