Thank you to everyone who joined us during the past month for the first part of Ravi Avasti/Summa, especially those who contributed a drawing. Your invitation to our community drawing exchange and closing event in December is forthcoming. Thank you also to those who joined us for Djirri Djirri’s Ngarrga (dance) workshop. Ngoon godjin, Stacie and Mikayla, for teaching us the beautiful Wurundjeri creation stories and movements of your dances. Part 2 of Ravi Avasti/Summa is now open and we can’t wait to welcome you in to experience Ravi’s latest display. This month, our focus on community drawing continues. Please pop in anytime to draw or join us for one of our scheduled ‘studio drop-ins’. We also have our monthly Art Walk and Open Late/Multilingual Poetry Reading Circle. Visit our events calendar to learn more. Finally, we are excited about our upcoming event with Meanjin/Brisbane-based writer, poet, and editor Shastra Deo, who will join us via video hook-up to explore her stunning book of poetry, The Exclusion Zone. Inspired by Shastra’s choose-your-own-adventure poem in the book, ‘It Survives’, an interactive conversation involving our guests is planned—RSVP to find out more! We look forward to seeing you soon.
