Join us for correspondences After Dark, an Autumn picnic in the park, a visit to NGV, and more. It has been such a lovely month so far, welcoming you into the space each week to discover Yoko's new installation in connection with her residency project, Yoko Ozawa: Yohaku (blank space).
Today, we’re thrilled to share In search of blank space, a new release by Genevieve Fry and Esala Liyanage of Cold Hands Warm Heart, a sonic response to Yoko's practice and ideas, and the sense of place on-site at correspondences, on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country.
It was commissioned and recorded earlier this month during their performance with us as part Brunswick Music Festival. Press the button below to listen or come by Thursday or Friday evenings for correspondences After Dark when we will be playing the track. We’re excited about sharing April with you. On Friday, April 14, we are planning a morning visit to the NGV to see Melbourne Now, with a particular focus on the work of current resident Yoko Ozawa and past resident Ali McCann. On Sunday, April 16, we’re hosting an Autumn holidays picnic in Princes Park for families and friends. We welcome children and their guardians and individual adults and friends to join as pairs to learn a little about haiku while enjoying the season with a yummy spread of picnic snacks. On Wednesday, April 19, we are thrilled to have photographer Annika Kafcaloudis returning to the site to photograph Yoko’s residency and installation process in action. Read on to find out more and book your place to join our events/activities, including our picnic and open house sessions in April and later this month.
We thank Merri-Bek City Council for partnering with us and helping to make next month’s programming possible.
Warmly correspondences Studio
