correspondences’ Cares

Fixed Costs & Additional Terms and Conditions

  • Cares payments are remitted monthly via a Direct Debit subscription arrangement. Payment of the once-off deposit of 20% of the artwork value and fixed costs for the Cares Standard or Cares Plus services is via invoice. We accept payment via direct transfer.

  • If, during the subscription, a patron changes their mind and wishes to cancel the lay-by, a 20% cancellation fee - equivalent to the original deposit - applies. All other monies will be refunded. This fee is essential as it covers the opportunity cost for the artist, where the work could have been sold in full to another collector.

  • Flat fees for the Cares Standard and Cares Plus services are straightforward.

    • The fee/value of the Cares Standard service is $250 per artwork. This includes packaging labour (packaging materials are complimentary), transport to/from your site for (metro Melbourne) and professional installation. Transportation outside of the metro must be separately confirmed through a formal quotation. This fee is charged before artwork delivery.

    • The fee/value for the Cares Plus service is $1,210, equating to 15 hours of specialist curatorial and installation labour. This service is typically for patrons seeking to acquire multiple works, and so in this scenario, the flat fee includes the installation of approximately four works. 50% of this fee is charged at the start of the 12-month subscription period or at the time of acquisition (if the work is purchased via the correspondences’ Editions program. The remaining 50% is charged at the end of the subscription term and before delivery.

    • Flat fees are adjusted annually in accordance with CPI and the wages index.
